Cool and Creative Mocktails for Summer Fun

What better way to celebrate the warm weather and days by the pool than with cool mocktails for you and your guests? Here are some fun recipes for sober summer sipping.

Tiki Cooler

If you’ve been dreaming of coladas or mojitos, celebrate classic tiki flavors with this beachy mocktail loaded with citrus.

You will need:

  • Ice cubes
  • 1 (six oz.) can pineapple juice
  • 6 fluid oz. coconut milk
  • 3 juiced limes
  • 2 tbsp almond-flavored syrup
  • 1 cup club soda
  • 4 pinches nutmeg
  • 4 lime wheels
  • 4 sprigs of fresh mint
  • Cocktail umbrellas

Directions:

  • Add ice to a pitcher, then add pineapple juice, coconut milk, syrup, and lime juice, stirring until chilled.
  • Strain the mixture and pour into four glasses.
  • Top off each glass with club soda to form a foam.
  • Dust each glass with nutmeg, garnishing with a lime wheel, sprig of mint, and cocktail umbrella.

Margarita Punch

This non-alcoholic lemon-lime punch is perfect for summer parties and showers. If you want to make the alcoholic version, just add tequila and triple sec.

You will need:

  • 3 cups crushed ice
  • 1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 1 (6 oz.) can frozen limeade concentrate
  • ¼ cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 cups chilled club soda

Directions:

  • Pour ice, lemonade, limeade, and confectioners' sugar in a blender, blending until slushy.
  • Gently stir club soda into mixture and serve.

Raspberry Citrus Mocktail

This refreshing summertime drink features fresh raspberries, calamansi limes, and grapefruit seltzer.

You will need:

  • 5 fresh raspberries
  • 6 tbsp water, divided
  • 1 tsp honey
  • ¾ tsp white sugar
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • ½ (12 fluid oz.) can grapefruit-flavored seltzer
  • 1 calamansi lime, halved

Directions:

  • Using a fork or spoon, mash the raspberries in a small bowl.
  • Mix in two tablespoons of the water, stirring in honey and sugar until it has dissolved.
  • Strain this mixture into another small bowl and set aside.
  • Add ice to a glass, then add remaining water and seltzer. Squeeze juice from the lime into the glass, then pour in the raspberry mixture.
  • Mix before serving.

Blueberry Ginger Fizz

This is the perfect light and refreshing mocktail for sitting by the pool.

You will need:

  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp. grated fresh ginger
  • ¼ cup crushed ice
  • 2 tbsp. orange juice
  • ¼ cup club soda
  • 1 slice orange

Directions:

  • Bring blueberries, sugar, water, and ginger to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for five minutes.
  • Crush the blueberries with a masher as you go.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  • Strain the liquid to remove the skins.
  • Set aside 1/4 cup syrup, storing the remainder in the fridge for up to a week.
  • Add crushed ice to a glass, then add in reserved blueberry-ginger syrup as well as orange juice. Top off with some club soda and stir.
  • Garnish with orange slice.
