His fortunate encounter ended a long journey of trial and error. It all happened once when on a single day he tasted 72 poisonous herbs. He felt weak, slipped on the ground, grabbing some leaves of an unknown plant. Their healing powers brought him back to life. Or so the legend says.

While both ginger ale and ginger beer are made with ginger, they have two completely different flavor profiles. Ginger ale is lighter with a sweeter flavor while ginger beer traditionally packs more of a punch. This comes from the different way they are produced. Ginger ale uses carbonated soda mixed with a ginger syrup while ginger beer is brewed and fermented over a few days using actual ginger pieces. This is why you often see ginger beer used as a mixer in cocktails as it can hold its own against the other flavors. That is not to say it can’t be enjoyed on its own!
